Improve Staff Capability Through Globalisation – Simon Lance

Published on 2014-09-18

THE RELIANCE ON EXPATRIATE LABOUR in China is slowly coming to an end. While some companies still bring over expatriate staff to pass on technical skills and knowledge, another alternative is to send Chinese managers and key staff abroad on international assignments. Says Simon Lance of Hays, this injection of globalisation helps bridge the cultural gap, develop strategic thinking and also assists staff in understanding the Western management style.
Simon Lance is the Regional Director in China for Hays and is responsible for operations in China, including operational, corporate and support staff in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Guangzhou. Prior to his current position, Simon held management and senior consulting positions with Hays plc in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
