Shine8 – ‘Fit to Lead’ – Hong Kong

Around 6 months ago, a good friend of mine shared that she was on a mission to lose weight and get fit. Having heard this from many people in the past, I assumed it was just another fad that she was going through, however when I asked her why, she replied “How can I lead my team, if I can’t even lead myself?”
As a leadership developer and trainer, this really struck me! I knew that I was quite overweight myself, but I hadn’t thought about how it might be influencing my staff and my trainees.
During a trainer retreat on the Great Wall of China, Ben inspired me from his huge transformation, losing over 20 kg and changing his mindset towards health and fitness. We shared ideas on how to help each other and others to get in shape and to make a lasting impact on our health, that isn’t just a quick fix, but a long-term change in lifestyle.
Over the next few months, we began to further research what worked and what didn’t as well as a host of quick tips that can make a difference to anyone who wants to make a change. This was the birth of our program “Fit to Lead”.
